Using the Navigation Tool Click the link to open the Navigation tool. It will open in a new window. You will see a screen like this:
The globe in the upper left shows the sky. The green and purple stripes show where SkyServer has data. Move the globe with the arrows below it, and click on a green or purple stripe. A new piece of sky will appear in the blue Mosaic window. The piece of sky in the mosaic window is the size of ten full moons put together.
If you click anywhere in the blue Mosaic window, a gray box will appear. The area inside the gray box now appears in the red Zoom window. Click anywhere in the Zoom window to bring it to the front. When you click on any star or galaxy in the Zoom window, that object's data will appear at the top of the window. The screen should now look like this:
